Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Medical-Surgical team on the day shift in Sheridan, Michigan. This part-time role provides hands-on patient care and supports nurses to keep patients safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour with rotating weekends and holidays. The role spans Med/Surg and the Emergency Department in a rural hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
• BLS certification required or obtainable within 30 days.
• Previous clinical or patient care experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Support patient mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Assist with equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, and bedside needs.
• Ensure patient comfort, safety, and hydration.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe care environment.
• Assist with basic clerical and documentation tasks.
• Communicate effectively with nurses and care team members.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Support both Med/Surg and Emergency Department needs based on patient volume.
