Job summary

Providence Seward Medical Center seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to assist nursing staff under supervision, ensuring a safe, clean environment and patient-focused care. You will communicate needs between patients, families, and licensed nurses while supporting daily living activities.

Successful candidates will have completed CNA training and hold Alaska CNA licensure at hire, with CPR/BLS within 30 days. Prior long-term care or hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Complete training as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License required at hire.

Under direct supervision this position is accountable to the RN to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient/resident, family and providers in the department in completion of the duties delegated to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the needs of the patient/resident through the RN. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient/resident focused care

Nursing services delivered by the CNA under the scope of their practice are supervised by and report to the licensed nurses.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of Caring Reliably, Culinary Training, ServSafe, and Dining Assistance within four months of hire.
• Coursework/Training: Completed training as a Certified Nursing Assistant
• Upon hire: Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 monthsexperience as a nurse aide, nursing assistant or personal care attendant in long term care or hospital.
