The CNA Lead Instructor/Coordinator will direct both lecture and laboratory activities for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program staff and students at GPTC’s DeKalb and Newton campuses. This may include Dual Enrollment courses at the Newton College and Career Academy in Covington, GA. The instructor must possess the ability to teach all phases of the CNA curriculum, evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. In addition, they will manage maintenance of supplies and equipment and ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area. The instructor will report to the Division Chair.
Minimum qualifications include: Associate degree required; Licensed Registered Nurse (licensed in Georgia); Certified Train the Trainer (or must complete within 45 days of hire); American Heart Association CPR Instructor; One year of nursing experience in a nursing home; Three or more years, within the last five of full-time, in-field work experience as an RN; Registered Nurse licensed in Georgia. The candidate must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the Certified Nurse’s Assistant profession including the relationship to other professions in the medical field. Experience must include the competencies, skills, and knowledge levels the faculty will be expected to teach. All credentials must be provided at the time of interview.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. BLS Healthcare Provider Instructor certified cardholder is preferred. Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring high school-level students. All credentials must be provided at the time of interview.
Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
