Job summary

Circle of Life is seeking an Inpatient CNA to provide direct personal care to hospice patients in their homes on 12-hour shifts (7-7). Night and day shifts are available in Arkansas.

You will follow care plans, ensure timely visits, and support the patient and family in a compassionate, ethical manner. Minimum requirements include Arkansas CNA or Home Health Aide certification, CPR, TB testing, and at least one year of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Arkansas Home Health Aide or CNA certification is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• TB skin test documentation is required.
• Minimum of one year healthcare experience, preferably with terminally ill patients.
• Ability to cope with suffering, emergencies and stresses.
• Must be a team player with strong ethics.
• Must use personal vehicle to travel to patient homes.
• Valid Arkansas Driver's License, auto liability insurance and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care to hospice patients and the immediate patient environment.
• Bathe, turn, shampoo and perform oral hygiene as part of direct patient care.
• Follow the aide care plan including patient assessment, intervention and clinical judgment.
• Ensure care activities comply with state/federal requirements and Circle of Life standards.
• Arrange timely visits including evaluations, information visits, follow-ups and visits at time of death.
• Maintain professional licensure and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Communicate concerns to the primary nurse and document in aide notes.
• Attend staff meetings and mentor new staff when requested.

General Description:

Essential Job Functions

• Provides direct personal care, including bathing, turning, shampoo, oral hygiene.
• Follows the aide care plan in the provision of services, patient assessment, intervention, and clinical judgment.
• Assures that all patient care activities are provided according to all state and federal requirements, and are provided according to accepted standards of practice, policy and procedures within Circle of Life's mission statement.
• Provides for timely visits, including evaluation, information visits, follow-up, regular scheduled visits, unscheduled visits and visits at time of death.
• Provides consistent level of care regardless of home environment and/or personal preferences.
• Assures visits are made in a consistent, timely manner.
• Maintains professional licensure, and participates in educational programs and professional development.
• Communicates any concerns to the primary nurse on a timely basis and documents such in the aide notes.
• Attendance is dependable with minimal absences.
• Participates in staff meetings as requested.
• Assists with the mentoring of new staff members.
