Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate basic care under RN direction, supporting comfort, safety, and recovery. Daily duties include patient hygiene, mobility assistance, and contributing to the patient's plan of care within an interdisciplinary team.

To succeed, you should have completed an accredited CNA program, WA CNA certification, BLS/CPR, and WA Food Handler permit, with a preference for hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program, upon hire.
• Military medical specialty training, upon hire.
• Certified Nursing Assistant: WA, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
• Food Handler Permit: WA, upon hire.
• Six months related work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides patient personal care/hygiene and physical comfort, including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothes, bed making, ambulation, lifting, turning, moving, transferring, skin care and bowel/bladder elimination.
• Performs, monitors, reports and documents all clinical activities within scope of practice. Observes and reports changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Obtains labels and transports a variety of samples (e.g. urine, stool, sputum specimens and blood products).
• Provides patient information to nursing staff for inclusion in the interdisciplinary plan of care; documents relevant patient data in accordance with work unit standards.

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction.

Provides such additional care as required to meet the personal primary needs and comfort of assigned patient based on skill, ability, limitations of scope of practice and patient acuity. Prepares patient, equipment and supplies for specific procedures/examinations.
