Job summary

St. Paul’s Senior Services is seeking caregivers/CNAs to visit participants in their homes across the San Diego area. You will travel in your own vehicle to support PACE participants with medication reminders, ADLs, meals, shopping and daily activities.

A $500 signing bonus is offered for full-time positions with conditions. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required; CNA certification is needed for CNAs. Education includes a HS diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. If CNA, completion of formal CNA training program.
• Experience: A minimum of one year's experience working with frail or elderly population.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Task-based visits to participants in their homes.
• Medication reminders for participants.
• Assist with at-home ADLs and daily living activities.
• Grocery shopping for participants and meal preparation.
• Other tasks as assigned to support participants and families.

This is a great position for CNAs or Caregivers looking to be out in the field building relationships and assisting our PACE participants at their homes! This position requires reliable transportation as you will be constantly traveling to and from participant's homes utilizing your own vehicle.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Successful completion of First Aid and CPR training in person with the American Heart Association.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• For CNAs, current California CNA certification.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. If CNA, completion of formal CNA training program.
• Experience: A minimum of one year's experience in working with the frail or elderly population required. Shall have either training or related experience in the job assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Shall be in good mental and physical health, and capable of performing assigned tasks. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling and reaching at arm's length and overhead in community for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to transfer participants needing one maximum assist. Must be able to make home visits to participants who live in non-handicapped accessible dwellings. Requires the ability to lift/carry up to 65 pounds and push or pull objects exceeding 150 pounds, using appropriate body mechanics.
