Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC, is seeking a Nursing Assistant II to support basic patient care in the Family Care Center. You will assist with admissions, respond to patient needs, and help implement the care plan under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in admission of patients to the unit, including orientation to the unit and hospital routines.
• Respond to patient needs with direct assistance or by reporting to the appropriate person.
• Assist with implementation of nursing care plan by carrying out delegated tasks.
• Maintain patient safety and proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Access medication and supply rooms to retrieve patient care items as needed.
• Keep a well-stocked, clean patient environment.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate charging for services.
• Engage in Educational and Performance Improvement activities.
• Perform additional skills such as phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, and waived lab testing per unit competency when required.
• Demonstrate responsibility for customer satisfaction, patient throughput, and hospital HIP initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
