Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for day shift duties at the Stroke and Neuro department. You will deliver patient‑centered care, assist with activities of daily living, and support nurses and physicians in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year experience preferred (long‑term care or assisted living), and completion of the NAI program with NA I registration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience preferred; long‑term care or assisted living experience preferred.
• NAI program completion; listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I; Medication Safety AME; state‑approved restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care using clinical experience to anticipate needs and promote comfort and dignity during each patient’s stay.
• Serve as a trusted partner to nurses and providers, sharing meaningful observations and supporting care plans in a fast‑paced environment.
• Guide safe mobility and recovery efforts, assisting with ambulation, repositioning, and fall‑prevention practices.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of vitals and patient status to strengthen communication and clinical decision‑making.
• Foster a calm, supportive environment for patients and families, offering reassurance and setting expectations.
• Provide and document assistance with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, clean environment under RN supervision.
• Assisted Living units: assist residents with ADLs and report changes in status to the Charge Nurse.
