Job summary

Beacon Hospice, Amedisys is hiring a CNA Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate personal care at patients' homes. You will support daily activities, monitor well-being, and report changes to the supervising nurse.

The role offers hourly pay of $25.00–$28.00 and a benefits package with health plans, PTO, and retirement options; eligibility varies by position and shift status. Prior CNA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification as a nurse assistant.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during personal and supportive care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status and reports to the primary nurse.
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
