Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a hospice aide to provide bedside care and support in patients' homes. You will help with daily living tasks, meals, and clinical observations under supervision, ensuring safety and dignity for patients in comfortable home settings.

Responsibilities include assisting with mobility, documenting changes, and supporting prescribed exercises under a nurse's guidance. This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits in Texas.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CNA certification and CNA experience within the last two years are required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during personal and supportive care, including ambulation, transfers, ROM, positioning, and light housekeeping.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, and helps with meal-related tasks.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status; follows written instructions from a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
