Job summary

AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH is seeking a dedicated CNA - Hospice Aide to provide compassionate care to patients in their homes. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, safety support, meals, and routine caregiving tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The position offers hourly pay between $18.00 and $22.00 plus mileage, with benefits and opportunities for growth within one of the nation’s leading home health and hospice providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current state CNA certification/registration as per state rules.
• CNA experience within the last two years is preferred.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and basic daily tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
