Job summary

AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH is hiring a Hospice Aide to provide compassionate personal care to patients in the South/Southeast Texas area, including Pasadena, Webster, Clear Lake, and League City. The position is full-time, days only (8am-5pm), and requires residing in the designated region with a valid CNA certification and CPR on hand.

Compensation is competitive, with benefits options including medical plans, PTO, wellness rewards, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current state CNA certification/registration required.
• CPR certification required.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to assist with ambulation, transfers, ROM, positioning, and household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and documents changes in patient status; reports to the primary nurse as needed.
• Follows written care instructions prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises and records simple urine tests.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
