Job summary

Optum in CT is seeking a compassionate Home Health Aide to assist clients at home with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities in Trumbull. You will join a team dedicated to delivering quality in-home support and improving client well-being.

Responsibilities include reporting client status to supervisors, safe driving for work-related travel, and assisting with essential household tasks. CT requires a 75-hour state-approved training; CPR is preferred or can be completed within 90

Qualifications

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
• CT requires completion of a training program approved by the state of CT of not less than 75 hours.
• 6+ months of home care experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred or able to complete within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with activities of daily living (bathing, hair care, teeth/mouth care, nail care, skin care, transfers, bathroom tasks).
• Report observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts manager.
• Drive safely, obey traffic rules, and wear a seat belt when traveling for work.
• Assist with household tasks directly essential to clients' personal care.
• Adapt to home situations regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial status.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities:

• May provide or assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing in bed, tub or shower; care of hair including shampoo, combing and brushing; care of teeth and mouth including denture care; nail care, filing only; skin care including peri care and applying lotion; transfer of patient from bed to chair and to wheelchair. Transfer of patients on and off bedpan, commode and toilet
• Reports observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts manager
• Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when business travel is required
• Assists with household tasks directly essential to clients' personal care
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client

Required Qualification:

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation

State-Specific Requirements:

• CT: Must have completed a training program approved by the state of Connecticut of not less than 75 hours

Preferred Qualification:

• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• 6+ months of home care experience
• Ability to work flexible hours and independently
