The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long‑term care. Provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance to an assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of and delivers age‑appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per the care plan. The NA is expected to follow infection prevention and control policies and personal protective equipment use. Responsibilities include assistance with basic health‑care needs, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital‑sign recording, psychosocial support, transfer and mobility assistance, range‑of‑motion exercises, food preparation and dining, housekeeping, laundry, wellness and recreational program participation, and participation in departmental committees as needed.
