Job summary

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support the care team under RN supervision. You will help meet patients' hygienic, nutritional, elimination, activity, comfort and safety needs and report vitals such as temperature, pulse and blood pressure.

Qualified candidates must hold Washington Nursing Assistant Certification and BLS from the American Heart Association at hire.

Qualifications

• Washington Nursing Assistant Certification required at hire.
• National Provider BLS by American Heart Association required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hygienic, nutritional, elimination, activity, comfort and safety needs of patients.
• Obtain and report vital signs (TPR and BP).
• Transport and move patients, and obtain supplies/equipment as needed from designated departments.

The Nursing Assistant functions within his/her scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse to assist in providing care and implementing delegated activities of the nursing plan. S/he demonstrates an understanding of basic nursing skills and skills unique to the assigned clinical unit(s).

Following orientation, s/he assumes delegated responsibility which may include (but not be limited to) such tasks as: meeting the hygienic, nutritional, elimination, activity, comfort and safety needs of patients; obtains and reports vitals signs (TPR and BP); performs urine reductions, transports (transfers, discharges) patients; obtains supplies/equipment as necessary from designated departments.
