Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated CNA to work with us in the Venice area on a PRN basis. Shifts are 8 hours (days) and you will assist at Venice and Village on the Isle Hospice Houses, committing to 64 hours a month.

Requirements include a valid Florida CNA certification and a valid Florida Driver’s License if you drive. 1–3 years of training/experience, with 1 year in long-term care strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida CNA certification (CNA license).
• Florida Driver's License required only if you drive when reassigned; not required if alternate transport is chosen.
• 1–3 years of training/experience; 1 year in a long-term care facility strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports and carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
• Performs personal care/home maintenance activities per the Hospice Aide Plan of Care.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions or behavior to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the Hospice Aide role and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains confidentiality in care of the patient/family.

What You'll Do

• Supports and carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values on a consistent basis.
• Performs only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care) by a health professional employee.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.

What You'll Need

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License; required only if the colleague chooses driving herself/himself when reassigned to another facility. Not required if an alternative means of transportation is chosen.
• One to Three Years of training and/or experience required. One year of experience in a long term care facility strongly preferred.
