Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant I to support rehabilitation nurses in delivering patient-centered care. You will perform delegated tasks, communicate effectively with patients and families, and help patients regain independence while building meaningful relationships with the care team.

This CNA role emphasizes compassion, attention to regulatory guidelines, safety, and a patient-first approach.

Qualifications

• CNA license or certification required by state.
• CPR certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds.
• Ability to transfer and reposition patients.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist rehabilitation nurses with delegated rehabilitation treatment and patient care according to regulations.
• Perform tasks delegated by and supervised by rehabilitation nurses.
• Utilize effective communication with patients, families, peers, and caregivers.
• Support a patient-centered environment and safety.
• Learn about each patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs as you help them recover.
• Build rewarding relationships with patients and peers.
