Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses. You will help maintain a safe, clean patient environment and assist with routine tasks to ensure quality and timely care.

The ideal candidate holds a CNA and is ready to obtain BLS and CPI within 30 days of hire; prior hospital telemetry experience is preferred. Flexibility to work various shifts is appreciated.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification required; BLS and CPI to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred hospital telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
