Job summary

Sanford Health, The Good Samaritan Society in America’s heartland, seeks a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to deliver person-centered care under RN supervision. You will perform delegated tasks per the care plan, support daily living activities, and communicate effectively with patients and care teams.

The role requires a CNA registration, completion of a 75-hour course, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work with diverse patient populations while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
• Completion of a 75-hour nurse assistant course is required.
• Required to be registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and registered in the applicable state's Department of Health.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Understands the physical and emotional changes including those which occur in the death and dying process. Delivers age appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the patient per care plan.
• Assists patients in daily living activities such as dressing and undressing, bathing and eating.
• Good interpersonal skills, be courteous and caring.
• Must know medical terminology, organizational policies and procedures.
• Requires ability to do detailed work correctly, function under and handle stress.
• Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client and patient population.
