Job summary

Ochsner Health seeks a compassionate Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care under licensed nurse supervision. You will help with basic patient needs, maintain a clean environment, and document care activities, while communicating effectively with patients and families.

Preferred: High School diploma, hospital experience, and completion of BLS/CPI within 30 days. This role requires flexibility to cover 24/7 shifts and a collaborative team approach.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web-based applications.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• CNA scope of practice and responsibilities within patient care.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides age-appropriate patient care based on physical, psychosocial, educational and safety criteria.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families and other staff.
• Completes documentation of patient-related tasks.
• Adapts communication to the patient population while respecting privacy.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards.
