Job summary

Active Day is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at our Baltimore, MD day care centers. CNAs assist with activities of daily living, personal care, meals, and social activities, while upholding safety and quality of care for our members.

The role supports an interdisciplinary team, requires strong communication, and the ability to multi-task, stand for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Background checks and regulatory requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and CNA certification.
• At least one year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to members.
• Successful results of background check, and where applicable, additional state-specific regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g. arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, therapies, rest room assistance, etc.)
• Through direct interaction and observation, assist interdisciplinary team in reviewing members’ behaviors and medical needs; provide timely and compassionate prescribed medicaland physical care in accordance with daily goals.
• Assist in the planning and facilitation of creative and diverse therapeutic recreational programs and encourage member participation.
• Serve meals and snacks and clear tables; assist with feeding as needed.
• Ensure the safety of members by monitoring activities, keeping a sanitary, clutter-free environment, and participating in safety training; actively contribute to creating and maintaining a clean, orderly, bright and welcoming center.
• Maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment ensuring all are clean, disinfected, stocked, replenished and in good working order.
• Communicate in a positive, courteous and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service educational programs as requested; actively collaborate with cross-functional team, providing feedback and recommendations for enhancing the member experience and achieving the center’s overall goals and objectives.
• Comply with company policies and procedures, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Other duties and responsibilities as changed or assigned at any time.
