Job summary

Apple Rehab Saybrook, a 100-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community in Old Saybrook, CT, is hiring a CNA to join our caring team. Starting pay ranges from $20-$25 per hour, with shift differentials for 2nd/3rd shifts and weekends, plus extra $5/h for shifts outside scheduled hours.

We offer temporary full-time 32 hours/week, per diem opportunities, and a supportive family-oriented environment. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, PTO, holidays, and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
• No history of patient/resident abuse as per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards residents and their support networks.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use, positioning in and out of bed.
• Documents personal care given according to facility policies and performs nursing functions as directed.
• Observes and reports changes in residents’ condition, including skin breakdowns, to supervisor.
• Records charting entries and responds to emergencies calmly and efficiently.
• Answers all call lights and maintains safety and quality of care.
