Qualifications

• High School graduate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides residents’ personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
• Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding residents as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning residents.
• Assists with lifting, positioning and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc., according to safety needs; assists with appointments and social programs.
• Participates in meal service including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room; ensures proper placement and utensils; serves food trays and assists with feeding; delivers snacks and hydration as per policy.
• Maintains knowledge of proper procedures to provide personal care services; prepares for treatments and examinations; provides requested personal care services.
• Checks residents, responds to call lights, reports issues; maintains resident stability and records intake/output; transports residents as needed.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records; maintains confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintains cleanliness of resident units and related areas; handles linens and infection-control compliant procedures.
• Provides post-mortem care as instructed; accepts other duties as assigned.
