Job summary

The Medication Assistant (MA) at Good Samaritan serves as a caregiver, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse's supervision. You will assist with basic health care tasks, document outcomes, and support wellness and activities for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Minimum age of 18 preferred.
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours continuing education annually.
• Maintains all department specific required certifications.
• May require a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• CMA/TMA certification or eligibility as required by state licensing for CMA roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Communicate changing conditions and care concerns to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion, dining, and housekeeping tasks as needed.
