Hospital Details

Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Massachusetts in New Bedford, MA, is a 90-bed Critical Care Hospital offering acute care services for patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Our patients often require specialized critical care for conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular issues, stroke, amputation, and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we provide a fast-paced, friendly environment where you can connect closely with your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

The Nursing Assistant assists patients with personal hygiene and daily activities, supports licensed nursing staff in providing patient care, documents activities of daily living, and maintains a clean, safe environment. Utilizes infection control procedures, basic nutrition, and fluid intake skills. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Valid, active certification as a Nursing Assistant/Nursing Aide in the state of employment
• Multi-Skilled Technician (MST), Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA), or current enrollment in a Nursing program with clinical rotation
• Experience in acute care or LTAC settings
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed
• Proficiency with computer and software applications used in job functions
• Drug and alcohol free workplace
