Department Details

GSS-Inver Grove Heights is a 46-room facility offering long-term care/skilled nursing care as well as post-acute rehabilitation services.

We are seeking a CNA to join our evening / PM shift team part-time, 24 hours per week, from 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents during their scheduled work period in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Must deliver age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs, following care plans, infection prevention policies, and PPE guidelines.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist with basic healthcare needs such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital sign recording.
  2. Provide psychosocial support and personal care to residents.
  3. Assist with transferring, repositioning, walking, and range of motion exercises.
  4. Support dining activities, assist with meals, and ensure a positive dining experience.
  5. Document resident interactions, communicate changes or concerns to the charge nurse.
  6. Collect non-invasive specimens and vital signs.
  7. Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas.
  8. Support wellness and recreational activities, encouraging resident participation.
  9. Assist providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed.
  10. Participate in departmental committees and organizational tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
  • Must have CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing or be in process of obtaining it within four months.
  • Complete yearly competency testing and maintain continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
  • Maintain all required certifications and registrations.
  • For applicable states, registered with the UAP Registry.
  • Dependent on responsibilities, may require a valid driver’s license and medical clearance for driving.
