Job summary

Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano in Plano, TX is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our PRN pool. You will deliver direct patient care on a multi-disciplinary rehab team, supporting daily living activities with dignity, safety, and respect.

Ideal candidates have current CNA certification, experience in rehab or acute care, strong communication and observation skills, and the physical ability to assist with lifting and mobility.

Qualifications

• Current State certification as a CNA is required.
• Previous rehabilitation, acute care, hospital, or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Strong observation and patient care skills required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to patients in a manner conducive to safety, comfort, and well-being.
• Promote and support the greatest possible degree of independence for patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, mobility, and repositioning.
• Communicate patient status, observations, and concerns to the supervising nurse at shift start and end.
• Contribute knowledge of patient conditions and needs to care plans.
• Assist in the implementation of care plans as directed within policies and procedures.
• Observe, report, and document patient conditions and changes.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and ensure equipment is clean and functional.
• Perform incidental housekeeping or support tasks as necessary.

CNA Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care to patients in a manner conducive to their safety, comfort, and well-being consistent with hospital policies and procedures.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, mobility, and repositioning.

• Communicate patient status, observations, and concerns to the supervising nurse at the beginning and end of each shift.

• Contribute knowledge of patient conditions and needs to care plans.

• Assist in the implementation of care plans as directed within established policies and procedures.

• Observe, report, and document patient conditions and changes as required.

• Comply with safe lifting, transfer, and mobility procedures in accordance with hospital policy.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

• Ensure equipment is clean, functional, and available for patient care needs.

• Perform incidental housekeeping or support tasks as necessary to maintain patient care areas.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

CNA Requirements:

• Current State certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.

• Previous rehabilitation, acute care, hospital, or skilled nursing experience preferred.

• Complete familiarity with the duties and responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant.

• Strong observation and patient care skills required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and physical demands of the role.
