Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, psychosocial support, and basic health care needs, following care plans and infection control policies. The NA also aids with procedures, documents interactions, and communicates resident conditions to the nursing team. Additional duties include housekeeping, laundry, and encouraging participation in recreational activities.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, not required.
  • Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
  • Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing or in process of obtaining it within four months.
  • Completion of yearly competency testing and continuing education (minimum 12 hours annually).
  • If applicable, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
  • Dependent on responsibilities, may require a valid driver’s license and medical qualification for driving.
