Certified Nursing Assistants at Masonicare at Mystic assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care to maximize independence, freedom of choice and quality of life. The official title for this role is “Residential Care Assistant”.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, ambulating, toileting, meals, personal hygiene, and transferring using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
• Support instrumental activities of daily living, including light housekeeping, laundry, escorting residents, and coordinating transportation.
• Assist in medication self-administration through cueing.
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical and emotional status.
• Conduct room checks, monitor safety hazards, and record incidents.
• Assist with dining activities, including escorting residents and serving meals.
• Participate in resident-centered activity programs and document care and activities.
• Act as a resident advocate and maintain confidentiality.
• Communicate tactfully in sensitive situations and follow up on concerns.
• Represent the facility to visitors and maintain required certifications.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

No experience required. CNA Certification is mandatory.
