Job summary

Elderwood is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) in New York. The pay rate ranges from $19.00 to $27.14 per hour, with higher wages for experience. You’ll provide ADL support, build meaningful resident relationships, and work with a stable nursing team.

Qualifications

• Current NYS CNA certification is required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living per care plans.
• Support bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating and mobility.
• Respond promptly to resident requests with respect and empathy.
• Observe changes in condition and report to the nurse.
• Support rehab and mobility goals as directed by the care team.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful resident environment.

ESS Requirements

• Current NYS CNA certification
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
• Commitment to:

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do as CNA with Elderwood:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living based on individual needs and plans of care
• Support bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, mobility, positioning, and other personal-care needs
• Respond promptly and respectfully to resident requests
• Observe residents closely and report changes in condition, behavior, comfort, appetite, mobility, or daily functioning to the nurse
• Support rehabilitation and mobility goals as directed by the care team
• Help maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and respectful resident environment
• Communicate clearly with nurses, rehabilitation professionals, residents, families, and fellow CNAs
• Follow infection-prevention, safety, documentation, and resident-rights requirements
• Contribute to a team culture built on mutual respect, reliability, communication, and accountability

Qualifications

What You’ll Need as a CNA with Elderwood:

• Current registration on the New York State Nurse Aide Registry, with no findings or convictions involving resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect, or misappropriation of property
• Must be at least 17 years old
• Employment certificate or permit if 17 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous training or work experience in a geriatric setting preferred
• A caring, patient, and respectful approach to residents
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow established plans of care and clinical direction
• Physical stamina for an active, hands-on resident-care position
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at the level necessary for safe care and effective workplace communication
