Job summary

Elderwood at Cheektowaga is seeking compassionate CNAs to deliver personal care and support within a teamwork‑driven environment. You can earn up to $27.00 per hour, with shift differentials and the option to opt out of certain benefits.

We offer a variety of shifts—days, evenings and overnights—plus full‑time, part‑time, or every‑other‑weekend schedules. Benefits include a 401k, PTO/holidays, health coverage, tuition reimbursement, and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old; HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Registration in the State Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) required.
• Active CNA registry with no findings or convictions.
• Training/experience in geriatric settings preferred.
• Ability to supervise others and communicate clearly.
• Good physical stamina and ability to follow care plans.
• English literacy at intermediate level or higher.

• Direct and monitor personal care duties carried out by Nursing Assistants of an assigned team.
• Report to Charge Nurse unusual symptoms, daily needs and progress of residents.
• Notify Charge Nurse of changes in residents’ conditions or needs.
• Follow the Profile of Care for each resident and monitor the performance of the Nursing Assistants.
• Respond immediately to residents’ requests.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living according to their plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for responding immediately to residents’ requests.
• Assist residents with the following Activities of Daily Living (ADL), according to their plan of care and individual needs.

Qualifications

• Seventeen (17) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Employment Certificate/Permit required for 17 years of age.
• Registration in the State Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) is required. Active on the State Nursing Aide Registry with no findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment or misappropriation of property.
• Training and work experience in a geriatric setting preferred.
• Ability to supervise and work well with other personnel.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Caring and respectful attitude towards residents.
• Physical stamina for constant activity required.
• Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required.
• This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
