Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in Rockland, Maine, is seeking compassionate CNAs or Direct Support Professionals to join a residential neuro rehabilitation team. You’ll help individuals with brain injuries or strokes regain independence in a home-like setting, with lighter duties and meaningful resident interaction.

Opportunities include weekend/full-time schedules, company-paid DSP certification within 6 months, CRMA training if needed, and a $2,500 sign-on bonus for certain full-time

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Certification as CNA or Home Health Aide as required by state licensure.
• DSP Certificate within 6 months of employment (company paid).
• CRMA certification to be obtained if not already CNA-M.
• Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or 6 months of experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform mobility tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding and ambulation.
• Monitor resident health status and report changes to clinical staff.
• Assist with medication observation and health monitoring per care plans.
• Support residents in developing daily living skills and independence.
• Encourage safe, independent activities and maintain a supportive environment.
• Document care provided and communicate with residents, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

Provide direct personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and ambulation.
Monitor residents' physical condition and report changes in health status to the appropriate clinical staff.
Assist with medication observation and medical monitoring as directed by care plans and organizational policies.
Support residents in developing and maintaining daily living skills and self-help activities.
Encourage independence while providing appropriate supervision and assistance.
Foster positive relationships and healthy interactions among residents and their housemates.
Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times and maintain a safe living environment.
Assist residents with recreational, social, and community-based activities.
Accompany residents to scheduled appointments, community outings, and other approved activities.
Document care provided, resident progress, and significant observations accurately and timely.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare providers, and team members.
Follow individualized care plans and support strategies.
Maintain compliance with all agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in team meetings, training programs, and ongoing professional development activities.
Perform other duties as assigned to support resident care and program operations.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
Minimum age requirements is 18 year
Valid driver's license, with satisfactory driving record, as defined by agency policy
Certification, if required by state licensure as a CNA or Home Health Care Aide in the state in which the aide is to provide care
Will be required to obtain DSP Certificate within 6 months of employment (company paid)
Will be requited to obtain CRMA which company will provide training
Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or 6 months of recent experience as an aide
Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics while lifting and may be expected to lift up 75 lbs.; must be able to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time and bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and commitment to person-centered care.
PREFFERED:
Experience working with individuals recovering from neurologial injuries, brain injuries, behavioral health condiditions, or other complex rehabilitation needs
Experience in residential care, long-term care, rehabilitation, or community-based support settings

Salary Range

USD $23.00 - $25.00 / Hour
