Job summary

The Jewish Home and Care Center, part of Ovation Communities, is seeking a dedicated CNA to provide direct resident care in a senior living setting in Milwaukee, WI. You will support activities of daily living, monitor health needs and ensure a safe, respectful environment for residents.

Experience in long-term care and CNA certification are required. The role emphasizes compassionate care, confidentiality, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Long term care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA Certification required.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide total resident care or assist with bed bath, tub bath or shower as needed.
• Assist with grooming and personal care activities including makeup, dentures, hearing aids and glasses.
• Manage elimination needs and provide catheter care as required.
• Ambulate, transfer and position residents using assistive devices.
• Answer call lights promptly and attend to residents' needs.
• Encourage participation in activities and family involvement.
• Record vital signs and weights accurately.
• Assist with meals and feeding; support use of adaptive devices.
• Monitor intake/output and ensure hydration and nutrition.
• Report changes in resident condition to charge nurse.
• Explain procedures to residents before performing them.

Primary Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the above-mentioned people, the CNA performs direct resident care, assists with activities of daily living and provides a safe environment for the residents in live in.

Job Duties:

• Works alone giving total care or assists residents with bed bath, tub bath or shower, perineal care
• Dental, hair, nail, shaving, dressing, and undressing, applications of make-up, hearing aids and eyeglasses.
• Elimination needs providing for and changing protective padding, toileting by offering bedpan, urinal or taking to bathroom, Foley catheter cares.
• Ambulating, transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as walker, wheelchair, Hoyer lift, gait belt or lift sheets.
• Answer all call lights promptly.
• Encourages active participation of residents in meeting their needs by promoting individualized, restorative care, attending activities, council meetings, and family involvement.
• Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and weights.
• Prepares, feeds and/or assists residents with meals, serves and removes trays, encourages the use of adaptive devices.
• Measures and records intake/output as required.
• Passes nourishments, encourages hydration and food intake that is nutritionally balanced.
• Observes and reports pertinent information concerning changes in behavior or physical state of a resident to the charge nurse.
• Explains all procedures to residents before carrying them out.

Qualifications

Experience: Long term care experience preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Other: CNA Certification

Must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion.

Read, write and speak the English language.
