Our inpatient CNA positions are on day/night rotation with rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. It also involves performing nursing support duties such as providing basic care services to patients without an RN or LPN license. Positions in this role work under the direction of physicians, mid-level practitioners, and depending on the unit, registered nurses. It is a specialized role requiring knowledge gained through vocational education, training, and experience, most commonly applied to patient care or scientific/laboratory jobs. This is an experienced level position requiring basic knowledge of procedures and tools, working under moderate supervision, and capable of interpreting or deviating from standard procedures when necessary.

The Clinical Care Technician works under the supervision of a professional nurse, assisting in direct patient care, providing environmental support, and ensuring patient safety across units. The role involves maintaining competencies in role-specific skills and supporting a patient and family-centered care environment.

Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA).
  2. Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited Nursing program.
  3. One (1) year of related experience as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, Critical Care Tech, or Patient Care Tech.
  4. Acute care experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist the professional registered nurse in functional care of patients, ensuring efficient, patient-centered care appropriate to developmental age, and communicate findings to the nurse.
  2. Provide or assist with activities of daily living, ensuring safety, efficiency, and dignity.
  3. Greet patients, families, visitors, and staff according to standards; respond promptly to requests, seeking nurse supervision as needed.
  4. Collect, record, and communicate patient clinical data timely.
  5. Prepare rooms for admission, transfer, or discharge with ready equipment.
  6. Transport or accompany patients safely and efficiently; act as a sitter as requested.
  7. Provide comfort measures and promote patient activity.
  8. Set up procedures, clean and discard used equipment following protocols.
  9. Collect specimens, perform testing, and prepare specimens for lab.
  10. Maintain biomedical equipment and report malfunctions.
  11. Assist with wound care and perform 12-lead EKGs.
  12. Connect monitoring equipment under nurse supervision.
  13. Care for patient belongings and complete belongings list.
  14. Prime IV tubing with non-medication solutions.
  15. Document admission, transfer, discharge tasks as directed.
  16. Respond to call lights and perform hourly rounding.
Physical Requirements
  1. Lifting up to 30-35 lbs, prolonged standing/walking, occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, squatting.
  2. Manual dexterity for procedures and computer use.
  3. Ability to see computer screens and reports.

  1. Ability to read, write, and understand medical terminology.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  3. Ability to handle detailed, confidential material.
  4. Computer proficiency.
