Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as a caregiver to patients during scheduled work periods. The PCT provides patient-centered nursing care and assistance with daily activities under supervision of an RN or LPN. Responsibilities include recording vital signs, administering basic health care, assisting with daily living activities, cleaning patient areas, collecting specimens, preparing treatment areas, and performing clerical tasks related to scheduling and documentation. Strong communication, customer service, multi-tasking, and organizational skills are essential. When necessary, employee will provide one-on-one care to patients.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and equipment preferred. CNA certification preferred. If working in North Dakota and not CNA-certified, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry within four months of employment.
