The Hospice CNA works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist to provide personal care services and supportive duties to clients as assigned, following physician orders. The Certified Nurse Aide maintains an environment that protects and promotes client rights, assisting individuals to maintain independence, dignity, and control to the greatest extent possible.

Job Duties Include:

  • Providing compassionate care with kindness, respect, and dignity.
  • Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) as directed.
  • Observing and reporting significant changes in client condition or behavior.
  • Participating in planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
  • Recording accurate client care information.
  • Communicating regularly with RN Case Manager or Director of Hospice.
  • Performing all aide procedures as trained and approved.
  • Assisting with pet care, including walking and feeding.
  • Complying with privacy laws and agency policies, including HIPAA.
  • Demonstrating teamwork and punctuality.
  • Using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or equivalent.
