CNA Requirements:

CNA Responsibilities:

• Handle and attend to residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, following instructions from the nursing supervisor or charge nurse to establish shift routines.
• Assume responsibility for various resident care duties as assigned by the charge nurse, including admitting, discharging, transferring, caring for personal belongings, and assisting with resident treatments.
• Assist residents with bathing, hair care, nail care, shampoos, and bed making.
• Assist with self-medications, treatments, and vital signs as needed.
• Verify resident identification and medication tags.
• Transport residents for appointments outside the facility, as needed.
• Participate in developing and following the resident’s nursing care plan.
• Record weights, blood pressures, temperatures, pulse, and respiration.
• Assist residents with meals and provide nourishment and hydration as needed.
