Job summary

Caring Healthcare in Corpus Christi, Texas seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to help patients with personal hygiene, daily living needs, and comfort, including assisting with transportation and vitals monitoring.

You will provide activities of daily living support, assist with meals, mobility, and vital sign checks; document observations, and maintain patient safety and comfort in accordance with hospital policies. This role requires compassion and attention to detail to deliver quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients' personal hygiene by assisting with bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; helps with travel to the bathroom and showers.
• Assists with activities of daily living by serving meals, feeding patients, aiding ambulation, turning/positioning, and providing water between meals.
• Administers adjunct care as directed by nursing staff (enemas, non-sterile dressings, cold/heat therapies); applies restraints as needed.
• Maintains patient stability by monitoring vital signs and weight, testing urine, and recording intake/output.
• Provides patient comfort by transporting patients, answering call lights, and reporting observations to the nursing supervisor.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Supports hospital standards and policies; adheres to federal, state, and local requirements and professional guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Provides adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; applying restraints.
• Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.
• Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Serves hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and standards.
