CNA 1 Medical- Surgical Diabetes Renal unit

Description

CNA 1 – Medical Surgical Diabetes Unit at Providence Portland Medical Center. This is a 0.6 FTE, day shift position (7am-7:30pm, 3, 12-hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

In this position, you will:

  • Contribute to a high-functioning team
  • Assist RNs with admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights
  • Collect specimens and perform fingerstick blood tests
  • Assist with patient mobility and transfers using lifts and safe handling devices
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development, including an annual CNA conference
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides non-professional, direct patient care under RN supervision, following the care plan.

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a certification course for Nursing Assistants
  • Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of nursing home or hospital experience
