Job summary

Verrazano Nursing and Post-Acute Center in New York is actively seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct resident care in a Skilled Nursing Facility. Per Diem shifts are available with a pay rate of $24 per hour.

Responsibilities include personal care, vitals, meal assistance, and accurate documentation under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. NY CNA certification and CPR are preferred, with at least one year of skilled nursing experience recommended.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from New York.
• Current/active CPR certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care) of residents daily.
• Change bed linens and maintain supplies in resident rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents with assistive devices.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and food intake.
• Observe residents and report changes to the Charge Nurse.
• Assist in collecting data for MDS and care plans.
• Ensure residents receive adequate hydration and nutrition.

About The Job

Verrazano Nursing and Post-Acute Center is actively seeking experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work for our Skilled Nursing Facility.

Per Diem Shifts Available

Rate: $24 hr.

Hours: 8 am to 4 pm, 4 pm to 12 am, 12 am to 8 am

Duties Include:

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.
• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.
• Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.
• Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.
• Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.
• Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed.
• Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.
• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.

Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from New York.
• Current/active CPR certification, preferred.
• At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred
