Job summary

CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to provide essential patient care under RN direction. You will deliver basic care, assist with transport, and contribute to the patient’s plan of care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires completion of the 75-hour CNA course, IA CNA certification upon hire, and CPR certification. Three 12-hour shifts weekly (630PM-7AM) with every third weekend and rotating holidays are included.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the 75-hour state approved CNA course.
• Certified Nursing Assistant license IA, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support CPR certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic patient care under RN/LPN direction.
• Support patient transport and mobility needs.
• Document care provided in patient records and communicate findings to the team.
• Participate in the plan of care and nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate).
• Contribute to patient assessments and plan of care through observation and data collection.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction.

• Under the direction and supervision of the Licensed Practitioner, RN or LPN, participates in the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.
• Assessment - Contributes to the assessment of the health status of the healthcare consumer.
• Plan – Contributes to the plan of care through observation, data collection and communication of findings to the appropriate member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Implement – Provides basic patient care activities based on the plan of care and as delegated.
• Evaluate – Contributes to the evaluation of the healthcare consumer by observing responses to interventions and communicating findings to the appropriate member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Documents cares provided in the healthcare consumer’s record.

Pay Range

$17.24 - $24.35 /hour
