Job summary

Wingate Residences at Pleasant Bay in Massachusetts is seeking a Part-Time per diem CNA/Home Health Aide to provide personal care per written service plans. You will assist with dressing, hygiene, meals, and mobility, while promoting safety and comfort for residents.

Responsibilities include shift log updates, mealtime support, activity participation, documentation, and strong teamwork focused on person-centered care within a compassionate, community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CNA or Home Health Aide certification in the state of work.
• One year of elder care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the logbook and assignment sheets for updates at the start of each shift.
• Assure that residents are neat, clean, and properly clothed. Assist with bathroom and hygiene needs.
• Tidy apartment; proactively assess potential safety concerns.
• Proactively assess potential safety concerns in common areas and report as needed.
• Transport residents to and from activities and dining.
• Provide SAMM assistance within the allotted time frame (if applicable).
• Accurate documents are provided, including SAMM timely (if applicable).
• Give a verbal report of shift change to the following shift.
• Mealtime duties: prepare coffee, serve breakfast, then lunch and dinner; set tables; encourage mealtime participation; assist with plates and utensils; clean up, load/unload dishwasher; clean and disinfect surfaces.
• Provide one-on-one support to engage residents in activities or provide a quiet space to calm residents.
• Facilitate and assist with activity programming.
• Maintain excellent customer service in all job aspects.
• Commit to person-centered care with residents and families; develop and implement strategies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Proactively assess potential safety concerns in common areas of the building and report to appropriate parties when needed.


• Transports residents to and from activities and dining.


• Provides SAMM assistance within the allotted time frame (if applicable)


• Accurate documents are provided, including SAMM timely (if applicable)


• Give a verbal report of shift change to the following shift.


• Mealtime duties include making morning coffee and serving breakfast as residents are ready. Serve lunch and dinner. Assist with setting tables. Encourage residents to take part in mealtimes. Assist residents with plate and utensil orientation. Clean up, load, and empty dishwasher, clean and disinfect tables and counters. Launder napkins and dish towels.


• Provide one-on-one support when needed to engage residents in activities or provide a quiet space to calm residents when required. Facilitates and assists with activity programming.


• Applies an excellent customer service approach in all aspects of the job.


• Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.


• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.


• Current Certification as a CNA or Home Health Aide in the state of work.


• One year's experience in an elder care setting preferred.
