Job summary

Mennonite Memorial Home – Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Nursing Department. You will support the licensed staff in delivering safe, dignified elder care.

Daily tasks include assisting with ADLs, vital signs, transfers, and maintaining a clean, safe environment, with a focus on person-centered care and respect. We offer flexible shifts, non-exempt status, ongoing education through in-service training, and a team-focused

Qualifications

• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
• Must possess and maintain valid Ohio CNA certification.
• Willingness to work in a long-term care environment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist elders with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Turn and reposition elders to prevent pressure injuries.
• Take and record vital signs, weights, and other data.
• Transport elders using wheelchairs and assist with transfers using lifts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary work area and respond to emergencies.

Job description

Location: Mennonite Memorial Home – Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio

Status: Full-Time/Part-Time Available

Department: Nursing

Reports To: Charge Nurse – Director of Nursing

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview:

As a CNA, you will assist the nursing staff in providing quality care to elders, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting elders with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Turning and repositioning elders to prevent pressure areas.
• Taking and recording vital signs, weights, and other data.
• Transporting elders using wheelchairs and assisting with transfers using mechanical lifts.
• Cleaning work areas and ensuring a safe, sanitary environment.
• Responding promptly to emergencies and maintaining elder safety.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a state-approved Nurse Assistant training program.
• Must possess and maintain valid Ohio Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Willingness to work in a long-term care environment and provide compassionate care to older adults.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Frequent walking and standing for up to 75% of the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and position elders weighing up to and over 350 pounds using appropriate equipment.
• Ability to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
• Exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and potentially hazardous conditions.
