Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Part-Time CMT Lab Technician to support construction materials testing in our Beaumont, Texas laboratory. This role conducts lab tests on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials, assists with sample collection, transport, and test prep, and maintains accurate electronic records.

The technician will travel to construction sites across Southeast Texas to pick up and deliver samples and provide field support as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • TXDOT and/or ACI certifications are a plus.
  • Previous construction experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn, work flexible shifts as needed, and adapt to changing project demands.
  • Safety-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other basic computer applications.
  • Ability to learn and utilize industry-specific systems, including TXDOT Site Manager and APCM.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Atlas is seeking a Part-Time CMT Lab Technician to support construction materials testing and quality control efforts in our Beaumont, Texas laboratory. This position performs laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials while assisting with sample collection, equipment transport, and test preparation. The technician will maintain accurate electronic records, enter daily testing reports, and help ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. This role requires travel to construction sites throughout Southeast Texas to pick up and deliver material samples and provide support to field personnel as needed. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively while working independently and as part of a team. Previous construction experience or industry certifications are preferred, but motivated individuals with a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
