Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician to perform field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt on construction projects, document test results, and support quality control efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in construction materials testing or related field.
• Knowledge of standard test methods for soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Word/Excel).
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• ACI Grade I and ATTI Field Certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with standards.
• Conduct quality control inspections on construction sites and document observations.
• Prepare accurate field reports, test results, and supporting project documentation.
• Maintain field and laboratory records and ensure data is complete and organized.
• Communicate test results and observations to project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry standards while working in the field.
• Assist with additional testing, inspection, and project-related duties as assigned.
