Job summary

Atlas is seeking an experienced CMT Technician to support our construction materials testing team by performing field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials on active projects. You will represent Atlas in the field, provide accurate testing, clear documentation, and dependable communication to help our clients maintain quality throughout construction.

Current ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification, or the ability to obtain it after hire, is

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction, materials testing or inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and testing procedures.
• Strong understanding of concrete, soils, aggregate base, and asphalt pavement materials.
• Experience supporting highway, roadway, or building construction projects and collaborating with contractors and project teams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites (~20%).
• Strong computer skills and the ability to complete electronic reports using field databases.
• Current ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification, or ability to obtain after hire.
• Current SB-102 and HMAC 1B certifications, or ability to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Travel to diverse construction/project sites to support infrastructure projects.
• Collect soil, concrete, asphalt, and other material samples for testing.
• Observe field conditions to ensure work meets project specifications.
• Perform field and laboratory QA testing using established procedures.
• Prepare accurate daily reports and testing documentation.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, and project teams as a field representative.

Core Responsibilities

• Travel to a variety of construction and project sites to support important infrastructure and development projects.
• Collect soil, concrete, asphalt, and other material samples for testing and analysis.
• Observe field conditions and construction activities to help ensure work is performed according to project specifications.
• Perform field and laboratory quality assurance testing using established procedures and industry standards.
• Prepare accurate daily reports and documentation of testing results, observations, and project activities.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, and project teams while serving as a trusted field representative.

• Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, project specifications, and testing procedures.
• A strong understanding of concrete, soils, aggregate base, and asphalt pavement materials.
• Experience supporting highway, roadway, or building construction projects and collaborating effectively with contractors, owners, and project teams.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed (approximately 20% travel).
• Strong computer skills and the ability to complete accurate electronic reports using field-based database systems on a daily basis.
• Current ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification, or the ability to obtain it after hire.
• Current SB-102 and HMAC 1B certifications, or the ability to obtain them after hire.
