Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Engineering Technician to perform field testing, observations, and inspections on construction projects throughout the region.

This role targets candidates with an ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification and an interest in building a long-term career in construction materials testing and special inspections.

Qualifications

• ACI CFTT Grade I certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, and other materials.
• Collect samples and test per ASTM, ACI, and project requirements.
• Document observations and test results using electronic reporting.
• Assist project managers by communicating field conditions and updates.
• Review project plans and specs before testing services.
• Support laboratory testing activities as needed.
• Maintain equipment and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Collect samples and conduct testing in accordance with ASTM, ACI, and project requirements.
• Document observations, inspections, and test results using electronic reporting systems.
• Assist project managers by communicating field conditions and project updates.
• Review project plans and specifications before performing testing services.
• Support laboratory testing activities when needed.
• Maintain equipment and follow company safety policies.

Required

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred

• 1+ years of construction materials testing or inspection experience.
• ICC certifications in Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, or Fireproofing.
• DOT certifications.
