What you will do

The Construction Project Manager is part of our Building Solutions North America business. Lead large, complex, multi-million dollar controls construction projects across the U.S. This is a remote position based in the U.S., with travel requirements up to 50% or more.

Under general direction, you will be responsible for the profitable execution of projects, working with sales managers and teams to support early-stage sales activities, including strategy, vendor selection, scope enhancements, and risk assessment. You will ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, within budget, and within scope, maintaining positive cash flow and pursuing change orders. Compliance with legal and safety standards is essential, along with adherence to project management procedures.

How you will do it
  • Act as the primary on-site leader for project execution teams, developing and implementing project schedules.
  • Evaluate contractual scope and manage change orders, cost estimates, and negotiations.
  • Manage costs, billings, collections, and maintain profitability and cash flow.
  • Review and interpret contract terms, analyze financial and project schedules, and communicate progress and issues to management.
  • Manage risks, resolve disputes, and develop project recovery plans as needed.
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts, ensure document control, oversee construction compliance, and manage material procurement.
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders, attend progress meetings, and coordinate resources and customer training.
  • Collaborate with team members for project development, including sales support activities and project management tasks.
What we look for
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or an Associate's Degree with relevant experience.
  • At least eight years of project management experience in construction.
  • Management experience with mechanical retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS, fire, and security systems is preferred.
  • PMI/PMP certification is expected within two years.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in project management software, MS Office, Adobe, Visio, and Windows.
  • Willingness to travel and handle complex projects involving multiple subcontractors and scopes.
