Summary of Role

The CMOS FEOL Reliability Engineering Intern will support the Fab 8 Reliability Engineering organization in assessing semiconductor device reliability performance across advanced technology platforms.

Essential Responsibilities

• Learn semiconductor device reliability fundamentals, including Hot Carrier Injection (HCI), Bias Temperature Instability (BTI), Time-Dependent Dielectric Breakdown (TDDB), Gate Oxide Integrity (GOI), and Process Reliability Monitoring (PRM).
• Support reliability qualification and monitoring activities for advanced CMOS technologies manufactured at Fab 8.
• Analyze wafer‑level reliability (WLR) and fast wafer‑level reliability (FWLR) test data using statistical and engineering methods.
• Develop automated data‑analysis, reporting, dashboard, and visualization solutions that reduce manual reporting effort and improve visibility of reliability trends across multiple technology platforms.
• Perform data mining, trend analysis, comparative studies, and historical PRM correlation analysis to identify process and device factors that influence long‑term reliability performance.
• Develop advanced statistical monitoring methods to improve excursion detection and reliability risk assessment.
• Collaborate with Device Engineering, Process Integration, Product Engineering, Yield Engineering, and Reliability Laboratory teams to support technology qualification and root‑cause investigations.
• Prepare reliability assessment documentation, engineering reports, and technical presentations, and present project findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.

Other Responsibilities

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications

• Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Semiconductor Engineering, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior related internship or co‑op experience
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision‑making.
• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning & organizational skills
• Knowledge of semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with statistical data‑analysis techniques.
• Experience with Python, JMP, Minitab, Excel, Power BI, or similar analysis and visualization tools.
• Exposure to semiconductor reliability concepts, wafer‑level reliability, or laboratory testing.
