Job summary

BETA Technologies, Inc. in Vermont is seeking a capable CMM inspector to contribute to aerospace quality control.

You will develop CMM inspection programs for aerospace components, collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Engineering, and provide technical expertise in machining process development and quality verification. Knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5-2018, experience with hand gages, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years QC experience in aerospace or comparable industry.
• CNC CMM Programming experience.
• Proficient in GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018).
• Proficient with hand gages (micrometers, dial indicators, profilometers, etc.).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.

Responsibilities

• Develop CMM inspection programs for aerospace components.
• Work with Manufacturing, Quality and Design Engineering teams to produce inspection processes to meet short-term and long-term goals.
• Provide technical expertise to the team; direct involvement with machining process development and quality verification.
• Program multiple CMMs supporting various machining processes and products.
• Provide formatted reports for engineering, CNC programs and operators.
• Interpret prints developed with GD&T standards.
• Edit legacy CMM programs, develop probing and fixturing solutions as required.
• Pursue new manufacturing technology, process improvement techniques and state of the art equipment to enhance capabilities.
• Perform inspection as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years QC experience in aerospace or comparable industry
• CNC CMM Programming experience
• Proficient in GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018)
• Proficient with hand gages (micrometers, dial indicators, profilometers, etc.)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

• ISO 17025
• AS9100
• Experience in tooling and fixturing design
• Experience using CAD models for inspection

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using OSHA required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Ability to meet OSHA's physical requirement for distant visual acuity, you must have at least 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without corrective lenses

The wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role. Compensation

$75,000 — $100,000 USD
